Asian Studies at Boston University has grown today into an important and comprehensive group of faculty and resources in Asian humanities and social sciences.

Asian Studies at BU includes the East Asian Studies Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Program, offering courses in a wide variety of humanities and social science departments. The Department of Modern Languages and Comparative Literature offers rigorous training in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Students can also choose one of the Asia-related tracks available through other Boston University schools and departments, including special programs like BU School of Management's International Management MBA Program in China and Japan.

Boston University is also home to the International Center for East Asian Archaeology and Cultural History, which provides the editorial home for the Journal of East Asian Archaeology, undertakes extensive research and public outreach activities, and disseminates information about archaeological research in East and Southeast Asia.

BU offers unique library resources in Asian Studies, such as the Menges-Jettmar-Frye collections on Central Asia and the K. C. Chang collection on East and Southeast Asian archaeology and anthropology.
